Our 8-day tour from Fes to the Imperial Cities and Merzouga begins with a departure from Fes at around 8:30 am, heading towards Meknes. The tour will include a stop at the ancient ruins of Volubilis before continuing to Meknes, a city encircled by 40 kilometers of walls.

We’ll visit the impressive Bab Mansour gate, one of the highlights of Meknes. After exploring the city, we’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. The journey then continues to Rabat, where we’ll spend the night, with dinner provided at your hotel.

Day 2Exploring Fes with a Local Guide

The second day of your 5 day Morocco Tour from Casablanca is dedicated to explore the Medina of Fes. After you finish your breakfast at the Riad a licensed guide will take to explore the important sites in the city. Fes is often considered the country’s cultural capital, it is made up of three parts, two medina quarters, Fes el Bali and Fes el Jdid, and the more modern, French colonial influenced, new part (Ville Nouvelle).

Visit the 11th-century Chouara Tannery and marvel at the many dye-filled stone pots. The men at work use traditional techniques that are hundreds of years old. Next, admire the intricate zellij tile work of the 14th-century Al Attarine Madrasa before heading over to the “new city” of Fes el Jdid (13th century). Stop at the Mellah, the old Jewish quarter and cemetery, and enjoy panoramic views of the city. If there’s time, visit the new part to discover the dramatic change in architecture.

Day 3Fes – Cedar Forest – Merzouga Desert [490 km]

Your 5 day Morocco tour from Casablanca continues as you depart from Fes after enjoying a delicious breakfast at your Riad. You will start a scenic drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you will notice a change in landscape. After a 1.5-hour drive, you will arrive in Ifrane, often referred to as the Switzerland of Morocco.

Next, journey to the Cedar Forest, home to the playful Barbary macaques. Your adventure continues through numerous Berber villages and cities, offering a glimpse into the local culture and way of life. A lunch break will be provided en route, allowing you to savor local cuisine.

Your drive will then take you to the breathtaking Ziz Gorge, a long valley adorned with lush palm groves. By evening, you will reach the stunning Merzouga Desert, where you will embark on a camel ride across the Sahara Desert dunes, leading you to a desert camp. Here, you will spend the second night of your 4-day Morocco excursion from Casablanca, experiencing the tranquil beauty of the desert.

Day 4 Merzouga – Todra Canyon – Dades Valley [247 km]

Start the third day of your 5-day Moroccan tour from Casablanca with an awe-inspiring sunrise over the rolling sand dunes of the Sahara Desert. The golden hues of dawn illuminating the vast landscape create a magical start to your day.

After soaking in the serene beauty of the desert morning, your journey continues with a visit to a bustling local souk. As you wander through the market, you’ll have the chance to interact with the vibrant local community, gaining insight into their daily lives and traditions. The souk offers an array of goods, from handmade crafts to exotic spices, providing a sensory-rich experience.

The best possible travel agency you can ask for in Morocco. I have travelled with Moroccan Travel several times to the Erg Chegaga desert, 3 to 5 days, with a Landcruiser and Salem as a driver and every time it has been magical.

The tour organization was perfectly planned. We experienced a feeling of being taken care of and spoiled. The camp was well equipped and the room very nice: fancy and at the same time simple and respectful of the desert landscape. Nice music show and great dinner. The camel trekking was just terrific as well as Omar our tour guide. So was the rest of the staff. It was the best 5 day tour in Morocco from Casablanca
