On the second day of our 8-day journey from Tangier to Marrakech, we’ll travel from Chefchaouen to Fes. Along the way, we’ll visit the renowned Roman ruins at Volubilis, known as the best-preserved Roman site in Morocco. We will also explore an important historical archaeological site in the region.
After visiting the ruins, we’ll head to Meknes, a city dating back to the 17th century, where we’ll have lunch and admire the medieval walls of Medina, including Bab el Mansour and the tomb of Moulay Ismail.
Meknes is one of Morocco’s Four Imperial Cities, having served as the capital in the 17th century. After our time in Meknes, we’ll proceed directly to Fes, where you will spend the evening at a hotel or Riad, concluding the second day of your Morocco tour from Tangier.
Today, you will experience a guided tour of the Medina and the renowned Souks of Fes. You’ll navigate the narrow, cobblestone streets filled with ancient mosques and towering green-glazed minarets, and admire the distinctive Andalusian architecture throughout the old city and its monuments.
We will make sure you visit all culturally and historically significant sites, including the famous Al Qaraouine University. The tour will also feature stops at traditional Moroccan tanneries and a pottery cooperative. Finally, on the third day of your 8-day journey from Tangier, we will take you to your accommodation in the Medina of Fes.

After enjoying lunch, we continue our adventure towards the stunning Sahara Desert. Our route passes through the picturesque Ziz Valley, the town of Erfoud, and the ancient city of Rissani. Upon arrival at the edge of the desert, you’ll start a camel ride to reach your luxurious desert camp, where a delightful dinner and breakfast await you.
After enjoying breakfast at the camp, followed by a camel trek back to Merzouga, you will commence your exploration of the Merzouga desert. This part of your journey includes traversing the desert in a 4×4 vehicle, providing an immersive experience of the stunning landscape.
During the excursion, you will have the unique opportunity to visit a nomadic family living near the border between Morocco and Algeria. This visit offers an insightful glimpse into their traditional lifestyle.
Subsequently, we will proceed to a village inhabited by people of dark-skinned descent, originally brought from Sudan as slaves. Here, you will be treated to the captivating rhythms of Gnaoua music and gain a deeper understanding of their cultural heritage.

We will then proceed to Erfoud, renowned as the “City of Fossils.” Here, you will have the opportunity to visit one of the local museums dedicated to fossils, providing a fascinating glimpse into the region’s geological history.
After a brief stop in Erfoud, we will continue our journey to the Todra Gorges. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a walk beneath the towering 300-meter-high cliffs, offering breathtaking views and a chance to experience the natural beauty of this remarkable site.
In the evening, we will arrive at the Dades Gorges, where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in a comfortable hotel or riad.
On the day 7 of your 8-day Morocco excursion from Tangier, you will begin your journey by departing from Boumalne Dades and driving to Ouarzazate to visit the renowned Atlas Studios. These studios are famous for their role in the production of numerous international films.

The final day of your Moroccan journey from Tangier begins with an exploration of the vibrant city of Marrakech. You will start a guided walking tour of the historic Medina of Marrakech. The tour will commence with visits to the renowned Bahia Palace and Badi Palace, both illustrious examples of Moroccan architecture and history.
Next, you will stroll through the bustling souks (traditional markets) of Marrakech, where you will encounter a variety of artisanal shops showcasing local crafts and products. Afterward, you will enjoy an early lunch before embark on a five-hour drive to Tangier Airport.

We had the best time on our 8 day tour starting in Tangier via Marrakech and Sahara Desert. Everything was planned and taken care of for us to the extent that we only had to enjoy the experience. Doing a private tour made our experience feel very personalized. We traveled as a group of 4 young females and felt completely safe and beyond welcomed at each accommodation. We had the opportunity to learn about and immerse ourselves in a new culture throughout the tour which we loved (especially in the desert!), got to try countless new foods and tried new activities such as sandboarding. Our guide, Mubarak, was so friendly and made our entire experience in Morocco so much more enjoyable and informative. Our car rides in between destinations were full of interesting conversation and laughter. He even went out of his way to drive our group to the airport days after our tour had ended which was extremely nice of him to do…request Mubarak if you can!
We were a group of 6 traveling from Tangier to Marrakech and back to Tangier for the first time. We didn’t know what to expect but Hassan and Omar (driver & guide) made our trip.
We experienced an adventure of a life time by visiting Fes and riding a camel in the Sahara desert with overnight in Berber tent camp, stars were amazing to see in Sahara.
We learned a lot about the Berber life our favorite parts of the tour were visiting a nomadic Berber family in tent beside the dunes, and camel ride in the desert was so amazing and fun also visiting Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah.
