This day of your Morocco trip from Fes begins after a delightful breakfast in your Riad in Marrakech Medina. First, you will meet your guide, who is going to take you on a walking tour in this wonderful Medina of Morocco. During your exploration walk, you will visit Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Ben Youssef Madrasa, Jamaa El Fna Square, and the Souks of Marrakech Medina.
Following your guided walking tour, you will have lunch in the Medina, then your driver will take you to visit the wonderful Majorelle Gargens which are in the new part of Marrakech. Your driver will drive your back to the Medina and you will have free evening in Red city.
The 5th day of your 7-day desert tour from Fes starts at 8:00 a.m. from your riad. You will leave the city behind and journey through the High Atlas mountains, reaching a high point called the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass, which is 2,260 meters (7,415 feet) above sea level. We will make stops to take pictures of the wonderful views.
You will then continue to visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, an old fortified village known for its unique Moroccan architecture. The Kasbah was home to many famous movies, like “Kingdom of Heaven” in 2005, “Babel” in 2006, “Prince of Persia” in 2010, “Game of Thrones” in 2012, and the recent documentary “David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet” in 2020. You will have plenty of time to explore this historic Kasbah.
Following, you will have lunch and head south along the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” to Dades Valley, passing through Ouarzazate, Skoura, and the Valley of Roses in Kalaat M’Gouna. When you arrive at Dades Valley in the afternoon, you will have some stops to see some impressive rock formations known as the “monkey fingers,” then make your way to the hotel where you will stay for the night.
