Day 1Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen

On the first day of your Morocco itinerary 10 days will take you to Chefachouen, passing by Rabat. Upon arrival in Rabat, we will visit the Kasbah Oudaya and Hassan Tower in Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Following, you will travel via Ouzan and the Rif Mountains to the final destination of the day, the wonderful Blue City of Chefachouen.

On your arrival, you will have time to see the stunning blue streets and wander around the Chefachouen Medina. Afterward, you retire to your riad, where you will stay overnight for the first night of your 10 days in Morocco.

Day 2Chefchaouen – Roman Ruins – Fes

This day of your 10-day Morocco trip from Casablanca to Marrakech will take you from Chefchaouen to the historical imperial city of Fes. Firstly, you will stop at the UNESCO-protected ruins of Volubilis, the Romans’ most distant outpost in Africa. The complex has merchant residences with intact heating systems, temples, and numerous mosaics.

Following, you will continue to Meknes, a smaller, less crowded city that is one of the 4 imperial cities in Morocco. Here, you will visit the Bab al-Mansour gate, the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, and the 17th-century Royal Stables. Afterward, you will have lunch in Meknes City, and continue on your drive to Fes, which is just one hour away.

Day 3Explore Fes with a Local Guide

Your curated 10-day in Morocco tour begins after breakfast, starting from your accommodation, for a guided tour with a local guide through Fes. Fes is the fourth-largest city in Morocco and one of its former capitals during the rule of the Idrissis dynasty, the country’s founding family.

You’ll begin your walking tour to the Royal Palace of Fes and the Jewish Quarter. You have time to walk in the Jewish Quarter of Fes and take some pictures of the Golden Gates of the Royal Palace in the city. Second, you go by car to Borj South to see a panoramic view of the three parts of the Medina of Fes. Afterward, you will visit a mosaic factory.

Following, you will go to Fes El Bali, which dates back to the 9th century, where you will visit the most important historical sites, including the old Medina, Al Qraouine University, and the leather tanneries, which are the oldest in the world and still functional!

Furthermore, you will stroll through its small lanes and massive medieval gates. It is said that the Medina of Fes, Fes el Bali, is the largest free urban area in the world. Finally, you will spend the night in a local riad for a good night’s sleep.

Day 4Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Merzouga Desert

This day of your Morocco tour will take you from Fes to Morocco’s Sahara Desert via the high and middle Atlas Mountains. There are plenty of small towns you will visit before arriving in Ifrane, the “Switzerland” of Morocco. First, in Imouzar, you will find the Atlas Lion monument, which a German prisoner sculpted in payment for his freedom. Following, you proceed to the largest Cedar Forest in Morocco, where you will have time to see and take pictures of the famous Barbarian Monkeys.

Following, you will make a brief stop at Errachidia’s dam, a large lake that provides water to all the Sahara.  You will also stop for a panoramic view of Ziz Valley, one of the most important sources of date palms in Morocco. Finally, you will proceed to Erfoud, which is renowned for its dates and fossil museums.

At the last stop on this 10 day in Morocco journey, you will arrive at the Erg Chebbi Dunes. From here, you will take an evening camel trek across the sandy dunes to your luxury desert camp. Following dinner, our Berber friends will perform drums and start a bonfire (weather permitting). You end the night with free time to enjoy the starry night of the Sahara Desert. This marks the end of day 4 of your Morocco Desert Tour.

Day 5Explore Merzouga Desert

Day 5 of your Morocco desert tour starts with a delicious breakfast in your desert camp. First, you will visit the small town of Khamlia, where you can listen to a unique style of folklore called Gnawa music—the latter is played by the locals, who are originally from sub-Saharan countries. Next, you will drive off-road to Mifis, an abandoned village with mines of lead, a mineral once used to make lead.

Following, you will have the opportunity to learn about the nomadic lifestyle with a visit to one family living behind the Erg Chebbi Dunes near the borders. Most nomad families serve tea to all the people who visit them.

Finally, you will drive to Merzouga town, where you will have lunch, and head to your hotel, where you will stay for the night of your Morocco vacation.

Day 6Merzouga Desert – Rissani – Todra Canyon – Dades Valley

On this day of your Morocco itinerary 10 days, your driver will pick you up from your riad. First, you will visit Rissani town, which is home to one of the oldest souks in Morocco. Then, you will drive to Erfoud, which is a city of fossils in Morocco. Here you can visit one of the fossil museums.

After that, you pass by many small Berber villages, such as Touroug, Tinjdad, and Tinghir. The next stop will be Todra Canyon, where you will stop to explore the valley and canyon of Todra.  Finally, you leave for Dades Valley, where you will stay in Riad or a hotel with dinner and breakfast.

Day 7Dades Valley – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

Once you have finished breakfast, day 7 of your 10-day tour from Casablanca starts. First, you leave for Kalaa Magouna, where you see the Rose Valley. Here is where a festival of roses is held every year in May and residents also sell rose-related products, such as fragrances, rose water, oil, and cosmetics.

Afterward, you continue your journey to Ouarzazate, the “gate to the desert,” to see the studios where so many classic films were filmed.

Following, you are going to explore Ait Ben Haddou. This is one of the most famous and oldest kasbahs (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986). Furthermore, many films have been shot, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, Sahara with Penélope Cruz, and free time to have lunch. At the end, you drive through the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech.

Day 8Walking Tour in Marrakech Medina

Enjoy a morning guided tour of the Red City of Morocco, Marrakech. First, you will meet your guide, who is going to show you all the historical and cultural places, including the Koutoubia Minaret, the Saadian tombs, the exquisite Bahia Palace, and the Ben Youssef Koranic School.

Before arriving at the famed Jamaa El Fna Square, conclude the morning with a stroll through the medina’s alleys, where you will have the opportunity to observe the various artists executing their trades. Following, you will have lunch before going to visit the Majorelle Gardens and have a brief tour of Gueliz, the new city of Marrakech, then drive back to the Medina and have a free evening on day 8 of your Morocco itinerary 10 days.

Day 9Marrakech – Essaouira

Say goodbye to the Red Cityon this day of our Morocco itinerary 10 days, and travel to Morocco’s west coast, following a route that takes you over vast rolling plains. Along the way, pass through an argan tree forest, which is endemic to this part of the world. You may even see goats dining on the argan fruit up in the tree branches. Visit an argan cooperative to learn how argan oil is extracted from the tree and what it’s used for in the food and cosmetic industries.

Arrive in the port city of laid-back Essaouira, a nice contrast to frenetic Marrakech, and spend the rest of the day as you choose. Walk the Skala de la Kasbah (the 18th-century seafront ramparts) along the coast. Explore the UNESCO-protected medina before making your way to the windswept beach. Jimi Hendrix fans may want to take a short taxi ride to Diabat at the end of Essaouira’s beach, where he reportedly spent some time. Walk back to Essaouira and enjoy a meal of freshly caught seafood

Day 10Essaouira – Casablanca Airport

On the last day of 10 days in Morocco, you will travel from the coastal city of Essaouira to Casablanca. After a joyful breakfast at your riad in Essaouira you will start a 5 hours drive to Mohammed V airport in Casablanca.

As your driver drops you off, all our services for our wonderful 10-day Morocco Tour from Casablanca via the North and South and back to Casablanca ends.

We did a 10 day trip starting in Casablanca that took us to Rabat, Fes, the desert, and finished up in Casablanca. The trip exceeded all of our expectations! Our driver Mohamed, could not have been more personable and thoughtful throughout our tour and took great care of us. The hotels and riads we stayed in were great, both in terms of service and location. Our tour guides were engaging and knowledgeable. We left Morocco already wanting to go back, and when we do, we will book with Morocco Travel again!

We booked through Moroccan Travel for a 10 days in Morocco visit to this beautiful country during our winter break. The company was prompt in response for any queries and never pushed anything. As locals, they know Morocco incredibly well, but they understand and suggest logistics for traveling, which is really hard to do with Morrocco since it is such a vast country with so much to see and do. I have planned most of our vacations, but believe me when I tell you, it is very hard to do in this country because of the distance between each city and the fact that public transportaiton is NOT faster than having a local guide. I have traveled via trains in most countries and I thought I could do the same here- think twice! The cost and the convenience of having a guide was incredibly worth it. The distance traveling by car plus seeing the beauty of the country during the drive is so worth it!! You will have beauty and nature throughout the drive and a 5 hour drive gm for example goes by in a snap.

In my entire dealing with Moroccan Travel, they were never pushy and were honest and kind from the initial contact I had on messenger(another traveler recommended them on the morroco traveler facebook group). They never even pushed us to eat at tourist traps or places, rather made us experience this beautiful country as a local would. One of the best parts about being with this group was that they are punctual and were always early for our pick up.

They can customize a trip for you or you can plan it and research and tell them the places you want to see. If you plan on going to Morocco don’t just see Marrakesh- see the whole country starting off north by Casablanca then heading north and then south.

Our car was spacious and super clean for a family of four and 8 pieces of luggage (carryon) and smoke free. Mohammed helped us on this once in a lifetime journey and honestly we felt like a local, knowledgeable family member showed us around. He was kind, trustworthy and a safe driver. He wasn’t distracted by cell phone use while driving during this 7 day trip. His english was phenomenal and more importantly he understood our English. He was never pushy either. He was always punctual and literally never used google maps (something we were in awe of) and he knows the country like the back of his hand. His knowledge of the country was very impressive.

I was apprehensive not knowing the language and knowing I wanted to visit the whole country and Mohammed and the team here made it happen. If you don’t speak Moroccan Arabic(different than Arabic in the rest of the world) or french and you want to see this beautiful country, definitely use them. Also, I did my research and they are best priced in this super competitive market. Their services are literally a prime example of Amazigh/Imagizigh hospitality. They know the deserts and the country very well.

They will ensure your safety and host like you have never been hosted in your life; it is of utmost importance to them to show their home.

*Note- we did mostly cities (Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Chefchouan, Marrakesh, Essaouira, Atlas mountains, Dades gorge etc. There is so much to do in this country!!!

I am beyond pleased with the service and quality of the tour, and I thought the price point was very reasonable. I would recommend Moroccan Travel without hesitation for your visit to Morocco. We stayed at beautiful places and had great food. Idir was a great driver/guide who shared historical and cultural information about Morocco. He made the difference on our vacations!
