Itinerary: Fes to Marrakech Desert Tour 2 Days

Day 1Fes – Ifrane – Zize Valley – Merzouga Desert

The first day of your 2 days Fes to Marrakech desert trip starts after your driver picks you up from your riad in Fes. Then, travel to the Sahara desert of Merzouga. First, you will stop in Ifrane, which is known as the Switzerland of Morocco because of its colder climate. Following this, you will cross the Middle Atlas Mountains. You will stop in the cedar forest to see some barbary monkeys, which are native to the area

You will have a top for lunch on your way to the Sahara Desert. Then, you will travel along the Ziz Valley, which is a long valley of palm trees in Morocco.  You will stop at a panoramic view to see this oasis.

Finally, you will arrive in the desert in the afternoon. Your camels will be waiting to take you across the dunes to your luxury camp. You will also watch the sunset from a high dune. Once you arrive at the campsite, the staff will show you your private tent, where you can relax and take a shower. After having a delicious dinner, the team will light a bonfire. Then, have a seat and enjoy the view while the Berbers are drumming and singing.

Day 2Merzouga – Ait Ben Haddou – Hight Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

On the last day of your Fes to Marrakech Desert Tour, it is highly recommended to wake up early to watch a wonderful sunrise from the middle of the Merzouga dunes. Following that, you will have a tasty breakfast, and the staff will transfer you to Merzouga village.

You will start another road trip to Marrakech after you meet your driver. You will stop at Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah to take some pictures of this famous site. The Kasbah used to be a set for many international movies like The Mummy, Prince of Persia, and the famous TV show Game of Thrones. UNESCO has protected the ancient village as a World Heritage Site since 1987.

Finally, you continue your journey from Fes to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains. You will have to make some stops to see some of the panoramic views of the mountains. Your Fes to Marrakech 2 desert day trip ends by the time our driver drops you off at your accommodation in Marrakech.

We did the 2 day 1 night desert trek from Fes to Marrakech. Our driver was Mohammed B aka Mo. I don’t even know how to begin writing this review, because everything was truly more amazing than I can put into words. All of the stops were incredible, especially the stop for the monkeys and the camel ride. We chose the glamping/luxury tent option for our night in the Sahara, and the camp was amazing and perfect and all of the staff there were so kind and the food was delicious. The Berber party was also so much fun. The car was very nice and spacious and clean and the drive was incredibly beautiful and we felt very safe with Mo behind the wheel, even driving through the windy mountain roads.

While the stops were all amazing and the experience went so smoothly, by far the best part was being with our driver, Mo. He was so kind, an expert on all of our stops (he drove us over 15 hours without even needing a map because he knew the route so perfectly), a very safe driver, extremely accommodating, and fun to be around and when we left after about 36 hours together, it felt like we were saying goodbye to an old friend. He truly was one of the kindest people we had ever met and so genuine and just wonderful to be around. We felt like we were leaving our best friend when we said goodbye because he made us feel so happy and at home during our 2 days spent together. My only regret is that we didn’t sign up for a longer trip so we could have all had more time together because it was honestly a magical experience. I would recommend this experience to anyone – we truly had the best two days ever and made memories that will last our whole lifetime.

We went on a 2-day tour from Fes to Marrakech with Moroccan Travel. It was a phenomenal experience. Brahim was our main point of contact before the trip and was incredibly helpful in helping us organize the trip. He let us know about some great options, and overall, he was great for getting us set for the trip.
All in all, I strongly recommend this for anyone looking for an excursion like this. The company is professional, helpful, and detail-oriented.

We booked Fes to Marrakech Desert 2 days. We had a wonderful experience driving across the country, learning about the culture, and sight seeing. Mohammad, our tour driver and guide, was amazing. He took great care of us and was super fun and kept the trip engaging. Mohammad arranged a surprise for my wife for her birthday with a cake at the tent. It’s wonderful how hospitable and friendly he was throughout. The tents were very comfortable, and the people were very friendly and warm. Overall, amazing experience with Moroccan Travel. 10/10
